About Community Presbyterian Preschool
Community Presbyterian Preschool was established in the fall of 1993. The church saw the need to reach out to the young families in the Fox Hill community and did so, by opening the doors for the first time on Tuesday, September 7, 1993. What began with two small classes that fall has grown to our maximum capacity of 96 children each school year.
Our goal is to nurture children between the ages of three and five, of diverse backgrounds and abilities with the love of Jesus and help each child reach his/her full potential while developing respectful relationships with others. We believe that the preschool years are a time to explore, a time to play, a time to develop new skills and a time to learn about God’s love.
We provide curriculum and educational experiences that are based on solid principles of child development and best practices in the field of Early Childhood Education. We strive to provide an environment that is safe, loving, accepting and rich in opportunities for learning and growth through age appropriate, hands-on activities. We introduce the children to as many creative expressions as possible, with emphasis on building the self-image of the child. We want the children to grow spiritually, socially, physically, and emotionally. Learning centers are extensively furnished with manipulatives, toys, and educational materials to aid the young child. Our program includes a 15 minute weekly chapel service, library, physical education class and music class. We incorporate a phonics based pre-reading program, math manipulatives, gross and fine motor skill activities, art, classroom music, circle time and outdoor playtime into a typical day.
